Scottish Council of Independent Schools (SCIS)

The day-to-day work of SCIS is carried out by Director, John Edward (the outgoing Director Judith Sischy leaves in July 2010); two Deputy Directors, David Clark (Continuing Professional Development) and Sarah Randell (Communications and Marketing); Assistant Director, Tania Smith (Research and Liaison) and a team of three administrative staff, Liz Blamire, Fiona MacAulay and Shirley Todd. 

Governing Board

SCIS's Governing Board comprises a Chairman, Anton Colella, and Governors, Heads and Bursars elected by the member schools, as follows: Jane Arrowsmith (Principal, Troup House, Banffshire); Mark Becher (Head, Compass School, Haddington); Wendy Bellars, Head, Queen Victoria School, Dunblane); Gerry Brown, Bursar, St Margaret's School, Aberdeen); Colin Crosby (Governor, Robert Gordon's College, Aberdeen); Lesley Douglas (Rector, Kelvinside Academy, Glasgow); John Halliday (Rector, High School of Dundee); Jenny Harper (Governor, Belhaven Hill School, Dunbar); Alistair Hector (Head, George Heriot's School, Edinburgh); Gordon Jack (Governor, The Glasgow Academy); Iain Kilpatrick (Head, Beaconhurst School, Stirling); Tom McGhee (Head, Spark of Genius, Paisley); Andy Rathborne (Head, Craigclowan School, Perth); Gillian Stobo (Principal, Craigholme School, Glasgow) and Gordon Woods (Warden, Glenalmond College, Perth). The Co-opted Members are Jeremy Chittleburgh (Treasurer, St George's School, Edinburgh) and Gareth Edwards (Principal, George Watson's College. Edinburgh).  There is currently one vacancy.
