Chemical Handling for Schools

10 a.m. - 3.30 p.m. including lunch on each day

This is a 2-day workshop which has recently been developed by SSERC in conjunction with SQA and the Scottish Technician Advisory Group (STAG).

Successful completion of the course will result in the award of 2 Credit Points at Level 5.  The course will cover a wide range of topics and willinvolved both practical and written assessment.

Topics will include:

• COSHH and Control Measures
• Labelling, Storage & Disposal of Chemicals
• Working with Glass
• Handling & Disposal of Alkali metals
• Preparation of Bromine Water
• Preparation of Solutions
• Titration

Numbers are limited to a maximum of 12, so early registration is strongly recommended.

Estimated cost per delegate:  £150 for the 2 day course
