Scottish Council of Independent Schools (SCIS)

Location: Hilton Grosvenor Hotel, Grosvenor Street, Edinburgh EH12 5EF (location map)

WE HAVE HAD TO POSTPONE THIS COURSE, DUE TO THE PRESENTER NOT BEING AVAILABLE.   IT WILL BE RESCHEDULED AND REPOSTED ON THIS PAGE LATER IN THE YEAR.

The morning workshop will look at the very important issue of cyberbullying.  The afternoon session will be a repeat of the CEOP Thinkuknow training course.  Both sessions will be presented by Anne Darling,  an ambassador for CEOP (The Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre). Thinkuknow is a brand of educational resources developed by CEOP. The products engage and empower young people (from 5 to 16) to keep themselves safe when online.   The course covers many issues that children and young people face online, and signposts initiatives and organisations for help and support.

All the products are free, extremely professionally produced and, most importantly, are very accessible to children and young people. The materials can be downloaded - however, due to the sensitive nature of the subject, the materials can only be delivered by people who have attended a Thinkuknow training session.

Note from CEOP: This training allows you to deliver CEOP's Thinkuknow programme directly to young people. However, you cannot cascade-train other colleagues unless you complete the CEOP Ambassador full-day training.   CEOP also recommend that professionals using CEOP resources at any stage attend this course, and an overview of the resources for younger  age groups will be included.

If you have already attended the Thinkuknow training, you may sign up for the morning session only.   PLEASE INDICATE ON THE BOOKING FORM IF YOU ONLY WISH TO ATTEND THE MORNING WORKSHOP.

Estimated cost per delegate: £75/110
