EMPLOYMENT LAW IN PRACTICE: EVERYTHING YOU WANTED TO KNOW TO ENABLE YOU TO DEAL CONFIDENTLY WITH WORKPLACE ISSUES
Delegates will:-
- Obtain a practical understanding of how to deal with the employment law issues which most frequently arise within the independent school sector relating to both teachers and support staff.
- Be able to work on case studies during the session so as to build confidence in dealing with existing employment issues.
- Receive development in the behaviour and skills based areas, which will build confidence in dealing with employment issues by giving them the comfort of understanding "how to" as well as "what to".
CONTENT
- Dealing with disciplinary issues against the background of the ACAS Code of Practice.
- Dealing with grievance issues against the background of the ACAS Code of Practice.
- Proactively managing performance issues and understanding how the informal performance management process interfaces with the formal performance management process.
- Dealing with absence issues from the return to work meeting through to long term sickness absence, with a practical understanding of how to deal with disabled staff.
- Equality and diversity: a practical and user friendly look at all areas of discrimination and harassment, and how to manage the risk relating to teaching and support staff within the independent school sector.
- Dealing with family friendly issues; flexible working, job sharing, maternity leave and other stories...
