The programme will be led by Iain Nisbet from the Govan Law Centre.
This event will examine the legal duties on Schools under the Equality Act 2010, and take a look at how to comply with them.
The morning session will include a presentation setting out the law as a whole as it applies to independent schools, followed by some case studies and examples.
The afternoon session will concentrate on disability discrimination, including the Additional Support Needs Tribunals and the forthcoming auxiliary aids and services duties - again with time for case studies and questions.
NB * AT THE HEADS' CONFERENCE IN SEPTEMBER, IAIN NISBET WILL ALSO GIVE A 1-HOUR PRESENTATION ON THE EQUALITY ACT - AN OVERVIEW OF THE ISSUES AND IMPLICATIONS FOR INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS.
