Geography Conference
Friday 19 March 2010
Location: (location map)
Timings to be confirmed
The village of Blackford contains three large commercial concerns - Highland Spring, the Tullibardine Distillery, and a new retail outlet which is dominated by Baxters.
The conference will convene at the Highland Spring factory, where the major 'players' in the area will discuss the locational factors that have seen them set up in the village. Delegates will then be given a tour of the bottling plant before we move to the cafe of the Tullibardine Distillery for lunch, followed by a distillery tour.
We shall investigate suitable topics for fieldwork in the village; and, for those that feel the need, there will be some time for 'retail therapy' before we leave for home once the weightier topics of the meeting have been concluded!
The meeting is limited to 35 delegates maximum because of the tours and the space in Highland Spring's conference room, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
Estimated cost per delegate: £30 & minibus charge where applicable
Please register by 10 March at the latest
