As part of their plan to support A Curriculum for Excellence, HMIE have offered to lead a workshop to deal with CfE issues that schools have identified. Among the topics that may be covered are:
- The curriculum as a whole (e.g. curriculum maps, building a broad general education, timetabling issues)
- Understanding and using experiences and outcomes (e.g. ensuring consistent understanding and application of standards - assessment)
- Transitions, including ensuring good progression P6-S2 and into the senior phase
- Organising inter-disciplinary work (e.g. bringing together experiences and outcomes from different curriculum areas)
- Helping learners to develop and apply literacy and numeracy skills across the curriculum
** The final content of the programme will depend on responses from Directors of Studies to a letter from David Clark sent to schools at the start of term.
Inspectors with considerable experience of the independent sector - Lachie McCallum and Kate Cherry - will lead the workshop.
Cost per delegate: £ 50
Please register by 28 October
