Boarding Houseparents' Conference - residential

Day 1:  3.30 p.m. for 4 p.m. start
Coffee/tea & Registration from 3.30 p.m.

Finishes on Day 2 at 3 p.m.

On Thursday afternoon, Anna Tomlinson from St George's School will deliver a session on ‘Student Voice in Boarding'.

On Friday the morning session will focus on ‘Supporting Pupils through Grief and Loss', including a look at bereavement support, emotional literacy and coping strategies as well as support through parental separation/divorce. The workshop will be led by Mary Lappin from the University of Glasgow.

The afternoon session entitled ‘Pastoral Support beyond the Referral', will be led by Mike Jeffers from Glenalmond College and will be based on practical experience. The session will involve discussion of issues surrounding child protection referrals and will consider the ongoing management and support required following a child protection referral, including the management of communication with parents and pupils whilst the case is ongoing.
