The course gives essential training in Child Protection and aims to increase delegates' confidence by examining current teaching practices with a view to minimising risk.
The aims of the course are:
§ to examine current teaching practices with a view to minimising risk
§ to develop skills in managing disclosure
§ to advise delegates of the expectations of HMI and what constitutes child abuse
§ to make delegates aware of the procedures in cases of alleged/suspected child abuse
§ to inform delegates of the law and medical consent
§ to advise delegates of the role of management.
The course tutor is Ann Darling, a highly experienced practitioner who has made significant contributions to SCIS courses over a number of years.
