Scottish Council of Independent Schools (SCIS)

Location: Pinkie House, Loretto School, Musselburgh (entrance from Pinkie Drive, located off Linkfield Road: ie., not the entrance by the race course) (location map)

A "show and tell" presentation by Marcus Brooke of Apps Central Ltd - the company that developed the iPhone application for Loretto.

This isn't a sales pitch - it's an explanation and demonstration of what's possible re: electronic communications with parents. We'll look at:

- Improved communication with parents
- Increased profile for your school-  Reduction in costs
- Scope and functionality - Calendars/Activities/News/Messages/Alerts
- Parental controls and security issues
- How the iPhone application works

There will be a group discussion focusing on what different schools actually need and want an iPhone application to do, in order to best meet their needs.

So what does this mean in practice? How will an iPhone application impact on or change your job? Bornie Lamotte, Head of Marketing at Loretto, will demonstrate how it is used in her day-to-day work.

Please register as soon as possible for this workshop on March 17th
