Librarians' Conference

10 a.m. - 3.30 p.m. including lunch

The programme for this year's conference will include:
10 a.m. - Encouraging fiction - Sophie Moxon from the Scottish Book Trust, and one of the teen fiction authors nominated for the Royal Mail Awards will talk about using awards as a tool to promote reading fiction for pleasure in the school library.
11.45 a.m. - Self Evaluation - Rhona Arthur from CILIPS will share with delegates the background to the self-evaluation toolkit "Libraries Supporting Learners", due to be published in the autumn by CILIPS.
1.45 p.m. Library Displays - A representative from one of the major bookshops will give a demonstration of innovative display techniques.
2.30 p.m. - Web 2.0 - An internet Consultant will give a presentation on how school libraries might make full use of the new technologies.
There will be ample time for professional networking and the sharing of good practice.
All school Librarians are warmly invited to attend.
