10 a.m. - 3.30 p.m.
Coffee & Registration from 9.30 a.m.
This event has been arranged in response to the increased interest in literacy created by A Curriculum for Excellence.
This workshop will give a quick overview of the most up-to-date research in teaching phonics, comprehension and reading engagement, and explain how this fits with the Curriculum for Excellence framework. It will model the type of teaching activities that have been proven to work, and explain what is important about these activities and how teachers might organise and manage them in their classes. The exact balance between phonics, comprehension and reading engagement activities to be explored can be decided by delegates on the day.
The workshop will be led by Sue Ellis, a highly regarded member of the University of Strathclyde staff.
All Secondary and Primary teachers with responsibility or an interest in Literacy are warmly invited to attend
Cost per delegate: £90
Please register by 21 September
