Presented by Dr Sue Hamilton, this seminar is for staff who have been identified to take on the role of leading or managing a school trip as part of their professional development.
The aims of the day are:
- To build on your experience, identify your issues, and be aware of the safeguarding and child protection context of school trips
- Revisit the basic principles of Child Protection, and the definitions of abuse
- Enhance your skills to screen information, apply thresholds, and take appropriate action
- Ensure knowledge of the law and medical consent
- Offer guidance on recording and the procedures to follow
- Examine the risks for children and young people in the digital world, and be aware of the Curriculum
