Location: Hilton Edinburgh Grosvenor Hotel, Grosvenor Street, EH12 5EF (location map)
10 a.m. - 3.30 p.m.
Coffee & Registration from 9.30 a.m.
This workshop will address two of the issues raised in the HMIE publication Improving Scottish Education, which highlighted
Self Evaluation for improvement
and
Broadening the Curriculum
as areas where Special Schools could continue to make improvements.
We are delighted that the former HMIE, Lorna Walker, will be leading the morning session entitled ‘Quality Improvement across the curriculum: how to use Self Evaluation to build capacity and improve your service.'
The afternoon session will be led by Jane Arrowsmith, Head of Troup House, and will focus on the need to broaden the curriculum.
All Special Schools are warmly invited to send at least one representative to this workshop, the first of three SCIS events to be held during this session.
The dates of the next two events are Wednesday 20 January 2010 and Thursday 29 April 2010.
Estimated cost per delegate: £80
Please register by 18 November
NB There is no parking at the Grosvenor Hotel: nearest parking in Morrison Street, a 5 minute walk away.
