For Junior School Teachers
This exciting day will comprise of a trio of interactive workshops focusing on three key areas of challenge within our education system:
Planning for assessment - An interactive and practical workshop designed to develop skills in planning for assessment as part of the learning process with the learner at the centre.
Creating an Effective Learning Environment – This workshop will challenge you to look at your learning environment and whether it is inclusive and suitable for the children of today. Creative thinking will be at the centre of the session.
Creating an Ethos with the Learner at the Centre – This workshop will challenge you to see your practice through the eyes of a child. It will challenge you to look deeply into how you meet learner’s needs and support you with practical ideas to develop this in your practice.
The sessions will be delivered by Jamie Petrie, an Education Consultant form Heads2gether with over 23 years’ experience as a class teacher, Principal Teacher, Depute Head Teacher and Head Teacher. Jamie will also call upon his previous experience as an Education Officer for Education Scotland in the Assessment Team to share the latest educational thinking and challenge you to think differently.
