  • We welcome substitute delegates attending in your place at no additional cost.
  • A refund will not be granted if a registrant fails to attend or cancels within 6 working days prior to the event.
  • For residential courses cancellation must be advised 28 days prior to the event.

Day 1 of 2 

All Deputes, particularly Directors of Studies and Heads of Learning and Teaching are warmly invited to attend what promises to be an informative and thought-provoking conference.  We are delighted to have secured such high profile colleagues to contribute to the day.

Professor Rob Coe, School of Education, Durham University and Director of the Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring (CEM), will open the Conference.  His keynote will consider current topical curricular debate with a focus on evidence based policy into practice.  Further information about Rob can be found via this link -  Staff Profile Rob Coe.  Rob is an active contributor in education and is regularly invited to provide advice and expertise on assessment to government and opposition ministers.

Professor Mark Priestley, University of Stirling, will complement Rob’s input.  Mark has published extensively with regard to the curriculum - see here for a flavour .  His recent blog called for a mature public debate to explore the question of ‘what are schools for’? - Curriculum narrowing in Scotland’s secondary schools: what exactly is happening?   Mark will share his perspectives and facilitate a workshop for colleagues.

The day will conclude with an opportunity for Deputes across the sector to network with colleagues and share practice.
