Empower Children’s Creativity: Loose Part Play
We are delighted that Alice Sharp, Managing Director of Experiential Play will deliver this workshop. Alice is renowned as a brilliant presenter and speaker and will be offering a range of stimulating and constructive ideas to support colleagues in their desire to enhance enabling environments.
In a play, loose parts are materials that can be moved, carried, combined, redesigned, lined up, and taken apart and put back together in multiple ways. They are materials with no specific set of directions that can be used alone or combined with other materials loose parts can be natural or synthetic.
Having “loose parts” available in a play space allows children to use these materials as they choose. Encouraging children to use resources as they choose can provide a wider range of opportunities than one that is purely adult led.
Children playing with loose parts are using more creativity and imagination and developing more skill and competence than they would playing with most modern plastic toys.
Delegates will consider
The importance of being open minded about mess and the thinking process of children!
A variety of items that can be used in loose part play.
A range of simple interaction techniques to support active listening and creative play
The development of concentration skills through the use of loose part play.
All Early Years staff are warmly invited to attend this conference which promises to be highly rewarding and an excellent opportunity for networking.
