Cancellation and refund policy
- Cancellations must be advised in writing/email 6 days prior to the event.
- We welcome substitute delegates attending in your place at no additional cost.
- A refund will not be granted if a registrant fails to attend or cancels within 6 days prior to the event.
- For residential courses cancellation must be advised 28 days prior to the event.
The conference will provide the opportunity for sharing of practice and discussion around career long professional learning.
Sector Wide Professional Learning: Exploring Possibilities
We are delighted to welcome Louise Hunter, Managing Director of Summer House Media and Robin Macpherson who has recently taken up post as Assistant Rector at Dollar Academy. Prior to commencing at Dollar, Robin was at Wellington College, Berkshire. Louise and Robin were key players in the annual Telegraph Festival of Education - http://festivalofeducation.com/ which was hosted at Wellington. During this session, they will share their thinking and plans for the Scottish market.
Following this, the focus will be on national developments relating to teacher professionalism. This will include current work of the GTCS relating to a number of initiatives including the Review of the GTCS Professional Standards, MyPL online system and a model for teacher professionalism.
The day will include a presentation from Jacqueline Morley of GTCS, together with input from schools on effective practice in leading professional learning.
The afternoon programme will focus on promoting leadership all at all levels, and will consider the work of the Scottish College of Educational Leadership in promoting and supporting leadership. Lesley Whelan, programme director of the Into Headship qualification at SCEL, will deliver a presentation which will be followed by discussion.
All staff with responsibility for supporting the professional learning of colleagues are warmly invited to attend.
