Cancellation and refund policy

  • Cancellations must be advised in writing/email 6 days prior to the event.
  • We welcome substitute delegates attending in your place at no additional cost.
  • A refund will not be granted if a registrant fails to attend or cancels within 6 days prior to the event.
  • For residential courses cancellation must be advised 28 days prior to the event.

Course Description

for Junior School Teachers and Art Teachers

 

This course is an introduction to paper engineering skills and book construction and is aimed at Primary class teachers, art teachers and anyone with an interest in paper crafts and /or books. It will be a fully practical workshop and over the course of the day delegates will make 10 different books using techniques including paper folding, scoring, stitching, hardback covering and using tools such as trimmers, scorers, awls and paper punches.

 

Books made include: accordion albums (simple & shaped), maze books, origami books, squash fold books, concertina spine ‘flag’ books, blanket stitch books, fold out books, stitched signature books, ruler books and envelope books. All tools and materials will be provided.

 

Delegates will take home all of the books they have made and instructions for these books. The course will be accompanied by tea, coffee and home baking and a sandwich buffet lunch will be provided.

 

The course will be run by Jane Hewitt, Assistant Head, ESMS Junior School.

 

The course is open to a maximum of 12 delegates.  This course was extremely popular last year so early booking is recommended!

 

Delegates must park offsite and should come to the Junior School Reception at 13 Queensferry Terrace.
