  • Cancellations must be advised in writing/email 6 days prior to the event.
  • We welcome substitute delegates attending in your place at no additional cost.
  • A refund will not be granted if a registrant fails to attend or cancels within 6 days prior to the event.
  • For residential courses cancellation must be advised 28 days prior to the event.

Course Description

For aspiring Heads & Deputes

Days 1 & 2 : Wednesday October 4 and Thursday October 5  2017

This well established and popular leadership development programme is designed for aspiring school leaders from junior and senior schools.  The programme provides an excellent opportunity for reflection and discussion on a range of issues relevant to school leadership.  It is a residential course, comprising 3 core 2-day periods spread over 3 terms.  Presentations, workshops and discussions will be led by experienced leaders, in the world of education and beyond.  This programme has recently been accredited by the GTCS for Professional Recognition – further information here – and participants have the option to elect for this route which will culminate in a written submission.  Participants are expected to undertake suggested activities in their school context in between the course days in order get the most from the course experience and to support reflection and professional discussion during the programme.  Background reading will be a recommended part of the course and relevant titles will be suggested as the course topics are covered. 

There will be a Leadership Revisited event during session 2017-18 which will build on the topics covered during the core programme and be tailored to meet the development requests of the group.  

There will be a maximum of 26 delegates, who will be expected to attend all 6 days of the core programme. The residential nature of the course is a very valuable part of the programme and enables delegates to get the most out of the opportunity for networking and professional dialogue.  

As the course has limited places, early booking is recommended.  When you register for Days 1 & 2, you will automatically be registered for all 6 days of the core course.  (Booking for the Leadership Revisited session will be confirmed at a later stage.)
