Public information about independent schools in Scotland
Open, transparent and consultative, the Scottish Council of Independent Schools (SCIS) is engaged in a range of public information and public affairs work, liaising with many Government departments and public bodies to advance education.
The significant contribution that SCIS and staff in its member schools make to curriculum and wider educational developments is highlighted on the Public Affairs pages of this website and the public benefit provided by Scotland's independent schools is explained.
The SCIS Information Service is widely used by parents, the general public, and the press. SCIS liaises regularly with Scottish and U.K. media, responding to enquiries about the independent schools sector in Scotland. An archive of recent press releases is available to download on these pages.
Enquiries should be made to John Edward or Sarah Randell on 0131 556 2316.
