Hutchesons’ has thrived for over 350 years and now offers the best in modern academic excellence with a sense of tradition and quality. It has superb teachers and results which are consistently amongst the national best.

The curriculum is extremely flexible and subject choice exceptionally wide. For such a substantial school there is a remarkably small pupil teacher ratio, the average class size is 15 and each pupil is individually supported.

World class facilities including a Drama Studio, Stadium and athletics track help pupils excel at sport, music, art and drama.

In 2016 Hutchesons’ welcomed new Rector, Mr Colin Gambles, a graduate of Edinburgh with a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry and a PGCE in Biology and Integrated Science from Cambridge.
