Vacancy Description / Summary
Beaconhurst is a small, 3-18 co-educational day school situated on an attractive campus in Bridge of Allan.
A strong HMI report in 2016 commented especially on a school that is safe, friendly, and where values are embedded in school life and where staff are committed and the Headteacher has a clear vison for the school.
The school accepts pupils on the basis of fit for Beaconhurst values. Academic results are excellent and most pupils go on to university, college or apprenticeships. While exam results are important, a genuinely rounded education equips pupils for life after school.
Beaconhurst is at an exciting stage. With the centenary coming up in January 2019, developments are under way to shape the education of the future. Recent investment in Expressive Arts and Golf have added to an already rich programme of activities for pupils.
To support developments, the school is expanding the Board of Governors. There has been a recent addition of two new members and there are remaining vacancies for individuals with creativity, energy and the vision to contribute to the committed and hardworking governance team.
In particular the school is seeking those with a background in education, child protection and law.
Enquiries and applications should be made to Miss McGowan on the details provided, marked for the attention of Mr Tom Preston, Chairman of the Board of Governors.
