Vacancy Description / Summary

Strathallan School seeks to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher of Design and Technology to join a forward-looking and ambitious Department from January/April 2020. The post will require teaching middle and senior school pupils from age 9 to 18. The school offers A Levels, Highers and GCSEs and achieves regular success in Arkwright Scholarship applications and university places in related fields. The post would suit someone in either their first or second appointment and presents an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and hardworking DT specialist to join and contribute to the direction of this fast-developing department. The successful candidate must be keen to participate fully in the pastoral and extra-curricular life of this thriving boarding and day school.

About the School

Strathallan is a co-educational boarding and day school for pupils located in 153 acres of rural Perthshire, less than an hour from Edinburgh International Airport.

The School offers GCSE, A levels and Scottish Highers over two years and day and boarding pupils benefit from a tremendous breadth of academic, creative and sporting opportunities, in a safe and friendly environment. They are supported by excellent facilities that have seen continual investment over the last 15 years including most recently a new dance and drama studio and indoor multi- sports hall to support year round training.

The School remains true to the ethos of its founder and supports every pupil to find their own way to excel. The success of this approach is indicated in our excellent academic results and in the creative achievements of our pupils.

Most importantly, Strathallan is a close, caring community with exceptional pastoral care, evidenced by the Care Commission Report 2016. It's a school where effort is rewarded, where pupils feel valued and happy and where they are given the time and encouragement to grow into capable, confident young men and women ready for the challenges that their lives will bring.
