Vacancy Description / Summary

Roles are split as:
• 9:00-3:00 pm for Classroom Assistant (27.5 hrs) and
• 3:00pm-5:00pm for After School Care Assistant (10 hrs)

For someone with demonstrable experience of working with young children in a similar classroom environment, the Classroom Assistant role is an exciting opportunity to support pupils’ learning within our Junior School.

There is also an additional opportunity available within our After School Care Team. Some experience as a Playleader would be beneficial for this role.

These roles can be applied for as one post, or consideration will be given to separate applications for each.

We are open to applications from candidates who have a genuine interest in developing their proven skills within these areas, especially if you are looking for a new challenge and have flexibility within your current career for this fixed term opportunity.

Further details and an application form are available on our website https://www.stge.org.uk/about/vacancies/, or may be obtained from Human Resources via tel: 0131 311 8000 or email: jobs@stge.org.uk.

About the School

St George’s School is unique: it is the only all-through, all-girls school in Edinburgh.

Here we promote educational excellence both inside and outside the classroom. Our distinctive character encourages each girl to be herself in an environment expressly designed for girls. Through a wealth of opportunities and an ethos promoting high expectations, girls gain in confidence and develop ambition so that they may achieve their full potential.

In a full school inspection by Education Scotland in 2015, the school was awarded the highest possible grading of "excellent" in three categories. An "excellent" rating was given to the school's curriculum, improvement through self-evaluation and also for performance (which covers examination results, attainment and achievement further up the school).
