Vacancy Description / Summary

SUPPLY TEACHER OF DRAMA

Commencing August 2022

We are looking for a forward thinking and innovative teacher to join us in encouraging our pupils to be themselves in an environment expressly designed for girls. The successful candidate should be an enthusiastic individual who will help in the continuing development of Drama throughout the school, and will relish being part of a co-operative, supportive and forward-looking community.

Interested applicants should also demonstrate a firm commitment to their subject, and to teaching as a profession, as the department aims to teach all students at a level appropriate to their abilities and to enable each student to realise her full potential.

Applications are welcome from either experienced or newly qualified teachers who hold relevant teaching qualifications, and who will be GTCS registered before taking up post.

About the School

St George's School is a highly regarded girls' day and boarding school set in tranquil parkland in a popular residential area of Edinburgh.

Established in 1888 by the pioneers of women's education, the school is one of Scotland's largest girls' schools and the only all-through independent school in Edinburgh for girls from 3 to 18 years. Boys are welcome in the nursery and to the end of P3 by 2024.

Our 'YES SHE CAN' approach, embodied in the abundance of strong female role-models and the range of opportunity on offer helps inspire every girl to find the path that is right for her. Our academic curriculum is a unique mix of GCSEs at 16 followed by Highers and Advanced Highers in the Sixth Form.

Rated 'Excellent' by Education Scotland in the most recent school inspection, St George's consistently achieves outstanding results in both Scottish and English exam qualifications.
