Vacancy Description / Summary
St Mary’s Music School is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic teacher to teach Latin and Classics, for pupils in the senior school, from S1 to S6. The successful candidate will have a passion for the subject and will be expected to stimulate interest and enjoyment, and promote the subject throughout the school.
In Session 2021 - 22 pupils are being presented for National 5 and Higher Latin.
St Mary’s Music School aims to offer the highest possible standard of education and musical training in an inspiring, inclusive and supportive environment, and all staff are expected to support their pupils and encourage them to achieve of their best. Classes are small and examination results are consistently good, with a pass rate of 100% in all exams in 2021.
The successful candidate will work closely with other teaching staff, to share good practice and develop a faculty approach to curricular development.
All teachers with responsibility for delivering aspects of the formal curriculum are required to be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) on appointment.
The post will be part-time, around 9 hours class contact time per week in Session 2021-22, permanent, and commences in January 2022, or by mutual agreement.
