Event Description

This in-person professional development day is designed for anyone with an interest in strengthening staff learning, motivation, and long-term school improvement. Grounded in current research and national guidance, the day will explore the relevance of professional learning, a variety of models and approaches, and cost-effective strategies that build internal capacity. Attendees will also examine how to measure the impact of professional development, with time built in for reflection, planning, and sharing good practice. With a focus on relevance, sustainability, and long-term effectiveness, this day aims to introduce practical insights and ideas that can be applied directly in school settings.

Presenting, we welcome Kirsten Colquhoun an experienced educator, consultant, and author with nearly two decades experience working in Scottish schools. With a background in pastoral care and a Masters degree in Education, she has a deep understanding of what works in busy school environments. Her work focuses on meaningful, research-informed professional development that supports teacher wellbeing, pupil outcomes, and whole-school improvement. She has worked with leading education publishers, delivered keynote talks at national and international conferences.
