Event Description

We are delighted to welcome Grant Whytock, a former secondary school Headteacher with a wealth of knowledge and extensive experience in effective timetabling and school operations to present this 1-day course.

"Introduction to Effective Timetabling" is a course that provides delegates with a clear overview and some hands-on exercises
around the processes involved in the construction of a secondary school timetable.

Delegates will look at data gathering and organising, decision making and the generic tasks involved in the building of a timetable from first principles.

The course is very practical in nature and involves working in groups to allow delegates to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to return to schools and play an active part in the construction of their own school timetable. Delegates from schools who use one of the many commercial packages available on the market can benefit from the course. When timetablers come up against issues with these packages, an understanding of how a timetable is constructed from first principles will help them find solutions.
