Event Description

Navigating Pupil Confidentiality - When can we tell the parents?

Independent schools regularly face difficult decisions about whether information disclosed by a pupil should be shared with their parents. Covering data protection law, safeguarding obligations, children's rights, and parental rights and responsibilities, this session provides practical guidance on managing sensitive disclosures and assessing when a pupil's expectation of confidentiality may need to give way to wider legal or safeguarding duties.

We are delighted to welcome Alison Marr, Senior Associate, and Karen Wylie, Legal Director in Family Law, from Morton Fraser MacRoberts LLP to lead this informative and practical session.

This session is free to SCIS member schools.
