For all Heads and Deputes

All Heads and Deputes are invited to join us for the SCIS Heads and Deputes Conference 2026

This event will focus on presentations and workshops from His Majesty's Inspectorate for Education in Scotland including an exploration of the new framework, evidence required and inspection activities undertaken as well as the PRAISE Framework on how inspection teams are expected to behave. The Registrar of Independent Schools will also provide an update.

An afternoon session with David McKie, from Levy & McRae, looking at the management of a legal or reputational crisis followed by a panel discussion on lessons learned from other sectors who have faced significant challenges.

There is also the opportunity to add a tour of the Royal Research Ship Discovery during the afternoon!

Arrangements: Registration is from 0930. Venue is directly across the road from Dundee train station, (4 minutes walk away). Parking is available at a Pay & Display car park next door (first come, first served) or bookable parking is available at Queens Hotel which is 10mins walk.

Trains to get to Dundee (according to current timetable but subject to change):

Aberdeen: depart 0820, arrive 0930.
Edinburgh: depart 0758, arrive 0921 or 0831, arrive 0945.
Glasgow: depart 0810, Dundee 0938.
