Event Description

All teachers are warmly invited to join this engaging and highly practical professional learning session.

Have you ever wondered why some pupils struggle to get started, stay organised, manage distractions, or regulate their emotions—even when they are capable and motivated? The answer often lies in executive function. This session will explore the vital role executive functions play in learning, behaviour, and academic achievement.

You'll gain a clear understanding of the key components of executive function and how these skills influence pupils' ability to plan, focus, remember instructions, manage tasks, and achieve their potential.

This session will provide valuable insights and actionable approaches that can make a meaningful difference in your classroom.

What to expect:

  • A clear understanding of executive function and why it matters
  • Insights into how executive function impacts learning, behaviour, and achievement
  • Practical strategies to improve focus, organisation, planning, and self-regulation
  • Approaches to support pupil independence and confidence
  • Classroom-ready ideas that can be applied immediately across a range of subjects and age groups
